Review of EnTrance

Electronic music has hit the 21st century  early, and well  with Conrad Praetzel's bright, infectious EnTrance.  This album will hold your mind in it's palm, roll it around, and get you to wondering: how is it that a machine can communicate the rhythmic feel of Africa, the sonic richness of South America, and the emotive mystery of Ireland?  Answer: a machine doesn't   Conrad Praetzel and friends, including Robert Powell on acoustic guitar and Armando El Mafufo on percussion, do.  One can imagine oneself in an intimate, well staged live performance as one listens to this intelligent production, which sensitively utilizes Western technology to create hip interpretations of traditional and ethnic music.
